As part of our role as the communications leads for the Global Commission on the Economics of Water, we spearheaded a social media campaign to promote the Commission’s presence at COP28. The campaign aimed to leverage the increased visibility around the event, elevating the Commission’s key messages and engaging with crucial stakeholders across the globe. As COP28 addressed the urgent need for climate action and sustainability, the Commission’s work—focused on revaluing and governing water as a critical resource for climate resilience, ecosystems, and human development—was especially relevant.

The campaign amplified the message that transforming the economics and governance of water is central to achieving global climate goals. We focused on giving visibility to Commissioners who were onsite engaging in media interviews, speaking engagements, and attending high-level discussions.

To amplify their impact, video interviews and soundbites from the event were cut and tailored for social sharing. To ensure wide reach and partner collaboration, we designed social media cards, wrote social media messages, and packaged the campaign materials in a Trello board for easy access and sharing among partners.
