2024 and the year to come

As we welcome the new year, we’d like to take a moment to reflect on and celebrate what was an extraordinary 2024 for our team at Cultivate. We collaborated on 38 projects with 16 clients across every continent. We’re incredibly grateful for their trust and partnership, which has allowed us to achieve some results we’re proud to share. Here are just a few highlights from the year!

Food systems stories

Our team filmed 4 documentary case studies on location in Thailand, the Netherlands, Mexico and Australia working with trail blazing scientists, farming communities and private sector leaders. While these films are still in production, check out some others in the series we’re producing with the American Heart Association and their project, The Periodic Table of Food Initiative, in Montana and Peru.

Valuing the hydrological cycle as a global common good

Over the past two years we’ve had the privilege of leading communications for the Global Commission on the Economics of Water which is redefining the way we value and govern water. 2024 was the concluding year for the Commission, and we designed and helped launch the final report which was featured on the front page of the New York Times and the Guardian. This was underpinned by the advocacy work our team led throughout the year, including working with influencers to mobilise youth and producing a podcast series that complemented policy briefs.

Science communication

We’ve expanded our science communication capabilities with visualisations and animations that are bringing omics to life with the Good Food Fellows Program. It’s an exciting step forward, and we’re refining our expertise with each project. Annual Reports

A mainstay of our year, annual reports and interactive websites continue to be core strategic communication resources for our clients. We developed an annual report website for ICARDA, and both a digital and PDF report design for CIMMYT. The potential for impactful storytelling and communication is limitless with digital reports and we’re excited to put some new ideas into practice in 2025.

Global events

We supported our clients at major international events with comprehensive communication packages and on-site support, including social media campaigns and media relations. It’s always special when our team members and clients come together in person! We welcomed new client the Caribbean Development Bank, providing them with media outreach to boost the visibility of their annual meeting and its outcomes.
